Avene Skincare

So this week I was invited to a skin event at my local pharmacy where an Avene Skincare expert helped me find items for my skin. I thought I would document the items I got and to review (in time) if they help my skin and work well for me or not.
I love the little bag I got with my items in (little things...as they say). I have only tried one Avene product before which is shown above, it is possibly Avene's  most renowned product, the Thermal Spring Water which comes in a small or large aerosol spray bottle. You can spray it on quickly or apply to cotton pads to put on your eyes or to use as a toner. I personally prefer to  spray it on after I have applied make-up as it stops my face feeling so dry after applying powders and it doesn't smudge my makeup at all.
The other items I bought were a full bottle of Clearance Expert moisturiser and TriAcneal a treatment for spots and blackheads. With the moisturiser I was instructed to use it in the morning and then the TriAcneal at night. I also got the Clearance Expert facial wash which I unexpectedly got for free! (its always good to get a freebie!) I will try all the products together soon and see if they do make a significant difference in the appearance of my skin or not. I will then also write a review after I have used them for long enough to let you all know. For now I have shown each of the products beside my French-esque mirror (Avene is French it seemed suited ...).

Even my cat loves the bag!

Double Denim

So this post is going to concentrate on the little finishing touches that are so important to an outfit but often overlooked. Clothes can take you so far (in creating an awesome outfit) but its the different accessories, jewellery and bags which you add to it that make it!

The outfit therefore shown is a very simple, 'off-duty' double denim look. It is a 'I've just thrown this on' look, kind of 90's-esque as well. Double Denim has been seen everywhere the past year or so therefore its nothing new! As the skirt is a pencil skirt however it does bring a good mix of smart and casual. All the pieces were pretty cheap and off the high street.

The things that make it (I think) are the accessories. The shoes and bag are camel toned and this colour just works so well with Denim.
The shoes by Dune London are slip on which adds to the 'don't care' model off-duty look and are on trend via the sporty luxe trend too! They are great looking with everything I've tried so far (I bought them a week or so ago) and really comfortable too - always good!
The bag is by Fiorelli, its tan so it goes pretty much with anything too which is great. A tan bag really is a good investment piece. Its also massive - you could practically take your kitchen sink with you! My sunglasses are round (lenses!) which are big right now, I actually got these a while back, probably a couple of years ago from River Island. They are leopard printed on the rims, matching the shoes! There are a lot of choice for similar ones on the high street at the moment. I have my usual bracelets (especially turquoise ones for this outfit) and an anklet. I also painted my nails grey which I didn't realise, matches pretty well with this outfit!
